This year marks a significant milestone in the field of neurosurgery, the 100th birthday of Professor M. Gazi Yaşargil. To celebrate this extraordinary occasion in July, the Department of Neurosurgery at the University Hospital Zurich and the World Academy of Neurological Surgery are honored to invite you to the Yaşargil 100th Anniversary Symposium, dedicated to honoring Professor Yaşargil’s unparalleled contributions to neurosurgery.
Throughout his illustrious career, which was largely based at the University Hospital Zurich, Professor Yaşargil revolutionized modern neurosurgery, significantly improving patients’ outcome and training generations of neurosurgeons worldwide. His groundbreaking work in microneurosurgical anatomy, as well as development of microsurgical techniques and instruments, continues to shape the field and significantly impact patient outcomes across the globe.
Given the profound significance of this event, globally distinguished neurosurgical experts will convene in Zurich to pay tribute to Professor Yaşargil, honorary member of the World Academy of Neurological Surgery, to reflect on his enduring influence, and celebrate his remarkable legacy.
